For the past two years I have been trying to dye my hair red with semi-permanent dyes. I was never interested in dying my hair with permanent hair colors because of the damage it comes along with the process. Since my hair is naturally jet black, the semi-permanent dye would never show. I was so determined with getting my hair red that I tried almost every semi-rinse there was to try. I was becoming obssessed with being a red head. Later as I did more research on semi-permanent dyes I found out that the dye doesn't lighten your hair. The main reason was it doesn't contain any developer, peroxide, or ammonia in the product. The semi rinse is mainly good for those who are darkening their hair. It made me so angry because my hair was already dark enough as is. One day I went to Sally's Beauty Supply store and met a woman name Rhonda who basically explained to me that I was most likely going to have to use a permanent dye to get the results I want. After all those years I spent trying to avoid permanent dyes, it broke my heart to know that I had no choice but to do so. Finally I gave in and decided to use one and guess what? The color still didn't come out as bright as I wanted it to, but you can still see the color. I guess I'm satisfied with the color, well for now.
